Visitors to the Rose Garden enjoyed light refreshments from the Deli Bar while enjoying an array of live music and entertainment throughout the day, with performers from around the globe coming together to celebrate this prestigious event. The entertainment included a wide range of singers and classically trained musicians that brought the beauty of the Rose Garden to life.

  • 11:00 Rio Roberts Jazz Duo Open or Close

    The duo will be playing music from the catalogues of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Diana Krall, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Ray Noble, George Shearing and Jobim - music that will capture your heart and soul as it transports you to a more romantic era.

  • 11:35 Vivienn Easom and Luke Green Open or Close

    Vivien Easom (Mezzo Soprano) studied singing with Pamela Cook MBE, at Birmingham Conservatoire with Margaret Field, and on the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme. Whilst a student she was awarded numerous prizes and bursaries (including the Symphony Hall Recital Competition and the Mario Lanza Opera Prize) and is grateful to the Royal Warrant Holders Association for generously supporting her studies at the Britten-Pears School.

    Luke Green (conductor and early keyboards) trained as a harpsichordist in his native Sydney, building a depth of experience in the music of the 17th, 18th and early 19th centuries. He has worked extensively in the world of opera, for the Salzburg Festival, the Bavarian State Opera, the Netherlands Opera, and Glyndebourne, amongst others.

    Vivien and Luke will perform a programme of songs and arias by European composers on the themes of love and nature.

    Jo Quail writes, records and performs instrumental music. Jo's majestic soundscapes travel a complex path from meditative ambience to dark brooding urgency.

  • 13:00 Monica Oriel Open or Close

    Monica is a 25 year old classically trained lyric soprano from Sydney, Australia. With a broadcast audience of millions worldwide, she sang the Australian National Anthem at the 2012 Boxing Day Test Match between Australia and Sri Lanka, and was the soloist at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service in Hyde Park earlier this year.
