This year MARTINI celebrates its 150th anniversary and with it, 150 years of creativity, discovery and innovation. With a rich heritage, this classic Italian brand stands for exceptional drinks, great experiences and creating your own luck. In 1847, Alessandro Martini, a wine merchant, together with Luigi Rossi - a master herbalist, created and launched a drink that is now world famous - MARTINI Rosso. The coming together of Martini and Rosso, was a unique association of two talented individuals who created the most internationally acclaimed and cosmopolitan Italian drinks brand. Their legacy is a unique culture and tradition, rooted in Italian heritage. The composition for MARTINI is top secret - known by only four individuals. The recipe contains aromatic herbs, scented flowers, fragrant fruits, exotic woods, rare roots and spices from across the globe - harnessed and blended into a perfectly balanced liquid of over 40 individual botanicals.

Since 1863, cultural icons from every decade have been part of MARTINI history. Maria Callas made her debut performance at the famous MARTINI Mondays concerts, whilst a young Andy Warhol created the now-iconic print ads in the late fifties and the MARTINI Porsche 917 won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the seventies. From motor racing to modern day Hollywood, the brand continues to be synonymous with style and glamour, as a new generation of film stars including, George Clooney, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sharon Stone, appearing in a series of commercials for the brand. Most recently, the brand has used its iconic position to provide a platform to nurture new talent, including current faces of the brand, Yuri Buzzi and Barbara Gonzales, both discovered through the global ' MARTINI Castings' competition. MARTINI is still true to the original motto of 1847, "Volere é potere" - "Where there's a will, there's a way" and to this day, the product captures imaginations and has been awarded prestigious prizes across the globe. Successes have included the appointment of 'Suppliers to the Imperial House of Japan' in 1922, winning a string of international competitions for its vermouth and sparkling wines and gaining the UK Royal Warrant of appointment (still held to this day) in 1962. Today, the brand can be found in 139 countries worldwide. MARTINI is proud to be part of a small selection of brands to hold a Royal Warrant, which was bestowed in 1962 by Her Majesty The Queen and in 1963 by Her Majesty The Queen Mother. Then in honour of Her Majesty The Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012, MARTINI raised a glass with its newest serve - the 'MARTINI Royale'.

Coronation Festival Activity

MARTINI are proud to begin the celebrations in the beautiful grounds of Buckingham Palace - the perfect setting to toast Her Majesty The Queen with a MARTINI® Royale! Global Brand Ambassador Giuseppe Gallo will be in attendance for the first two days of the festival to speak to guests about the MARTINI range of products. Giuseppe joined MARTINI in 2009 as one of the world's most respected mixologists, creating and introducing MARTINI drinks worldwide and developing new liquids.

The brand is excited to be showcasing the MARTINI Royale - a creation by master mixologist Giuseppe Gallo, which is a refreshing blend of MARTINI Bianco or MARTINI Rosato mixed with MARTINI Prosecco, named in honour of Her Majesty The Queen. The MARTINI Royale Bianco is an harmonious combination of sweet vanilla, citrus and acidic notes, with a floral aroma, served with a squeeze of lime and sprig of mint topped with MARTINI Prosecco. The MARTINI Royale Rosato combines aromas of red fruits with sweet and spicy notes, best served with a wedge of orange over MARTINI Prosecco. Guests will also be able to enjoy MARTINI Bianco and soda, MARTINI Rosato and soda, MARTINI Extra Dry and lemonade and MARTINI Rosso and tonic.
