GSK was delighted to support the Coronation Festival as a headline partner
Not everyone remembers much about their first job, but that won't be the case for two of the youngest members of team - our graduate trainee Danielle and industrial placement student Laura. Danielle and Laura both played a pivotal role in organising our exhibit at the Coronation Festival. Danielle, who project managed our partnership, had the privilege of being introduced to HM The Queen by our CEO Sir Andrew Witty, while Laura had the honour of demonstrating how our science helped the anti-doping labs at London 2012 operate 24/7 last year.
Over the four-day celebration we were delighted to welcome thousands of Festival-goers and to introduce them to the great diversity of our work, both in the UK and around the world; from supporting polar exhibitions through our Horlicks products, to our innovative partnership with the McLaren Group, leading the industry with our recycling initiatives, and helping make a real difference to millions of childrens' lives in developing countries through our global health programmes.
Sir Andrew Witty, CEO at GSK, said: 'We were delighted to support the Coronation Festival as a headline partner, celebrating the contribution great British science has made both to the UK, and globally, over the past 60 years. It was a privilege to welcome HM The Queen to our exhibition and to introduce her to some of the young people in our company who will be helping deliver the innovation, which is the bedrock of our business, in future years.'
