Hamilton & Inches, Silversmiths and Clock Specialists By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen, has created two special limited edition pieces – silver chain link necklace and lead crystal and silver decanter - that will be unveiled at the Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace (Style, Pursuits & Pastimes, Stand SP08). Independently owned and highly individual, Hamilton & Inches has maintained its own silver workshops, almost the last of their kind, in the heart of Edinburgh since 1866. Over the three floors above the Georgian grandeur of its showroom is a team of highly skilled craftspeople – silversmiths, polisher, hand engraver and jewellers - who have worked on these new pieces.

hinches copyEach round link of the 40-inch chain, the most popular piece in the Hamilton & Inches Chain Link Collection, is hammered individually by the silversmiths to create facets that glint in the light. The chain is finished with a hammered silver bead bearing the H&I initials, and, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of The Queen's Coronation, it has been set with a round, brilliant-cut diamond dotting the 'i'. The chain can be worn at full length, in a double twist wrapped as a choker, or as a multistrand bracelet or belt.

hamilton2The silversmiths have designed and made a Britannia silver, stylised diamond-shaped stopper with feature hallmarks, including the H&I maker's mark and 2013 date mark, for this British-made, lead crystal decanter, hand blown and cut with a diamond pattern. A bottle of the Hamilton & Inches Directors' Cut Blended Scotch Whisky accompanies each decanter. The decanter is made to order, up to limited edition of 60.
