Celebrating the last 60 years of Performing Arts
Specially invited guests, were last night treated to a spectacular feast of live music, dance and entertainment. Hosted by Gareth Malone and Sophie Raworth, the audience were treated to some unique and exclusive performances from the UK and around the Commonweath.
Taking to the stage, were UK artists Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson, Katie Melua, Laura Wright and pop rock band The Feeling. The musical programme also featured stunning performances by the National Youth Orchestra, Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, Mike Batt, The Virtual Choir, English National Ballet and Grammy Award winning composer Eric Whitacre, plus a host of other surprise artists, in a tribute to Her Majesty and the incredible era of change during her Reign.
Last night's performance was watched by members of the Royal Family, including Her Majesty The Queen. The Evening Gala is due to take place again tonight (Friday 12th) and tomorrow (Saturday 13th) at 7:30pm for members of the public to enjoy.
