Dege & Skinner

Style, Pursuits & Pastimes

Established in 1865, Dege & Skinner is one of only two family-owned bespoke tailoring houses to remain on London's prestigious Savile Row, and one of the only houses to actually measure, cut and make bespoke clothing and bespoke shirts in its stylishly refurbished premises at No. 10, in what is globally recognised as the sartorial home of the finest tailoring.

Holder of three Royal Warrants and immensely proud of the company's connections with the Royal Household, military coat maker Sarah Goodwin won a coveted QEST (The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust) Scholarship in 1993. A YTS employee since 1982, Sarah studied Gold & Silver Wire Embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court Palace, to enable her to expand her outstanding ability as a coat maker.

Managing Director, William Skinner, is the third successive generation of his family to be Grantee of the company's Royal Warrant to Her Majesty The Queen and his father, Chairman Michael Skinner, attended The Queen's Coronation at Westminster Abbey in 1953, when he, his father and John Dege dressed the Peers of the Realm in their magnificent Coronation Robes.

Although Dege & Skinner is primarily a Civil and Sporting bespoke tailor and shirt maker, it has an enviable speciality in making exquisite military uniforms. The Skinner family is proud to offer three-year apprenticeships, and that all its products are made in the United Kingdom. The firm also looks after the military bespoke tailoring uniform requirements of younger members of the Royal Household, who are in active service.
